2007- My first trip to Italy
Organised by 'Tracks-n-Trips' this was an energetic yet chill-out holiday based in the small village of Albiano, near Barga, Tuscany.
With only a small population, Albiano is very quiet - about the loudest noise you can hear is the 4am wake-up call from the village cockerel.
From here we ventured out on daily walks, to nearby villages of Castlenuovo, Sommocolonia and Barga, as well as further afield into the Orecciella Natural Park.
The final walk was to Fornovalasco-Monte Forato and some more adventurous walkers ventured onto the Grotto del Vento ('Windy Cave').
All in all an excellent trip, with great food, cheap wine, nice lodgings at the La Terrazza Hotel in Albiano, and well put together by T'n'T.
We even had time to visit Florence, by Train, and on the final day, with a mid-afternoon flight some of us ventured into Pisa to view the famous 'leaning tower' and sample some of the Pisan cafe culture
